As
many of you know I made Sauvignon Blanc for years from
grapes grown here in Sonoma County - very good Sauvignon
Blanc - but I loved the intensity and style of the
Sauvignon Blanc coming from New Zealand, so much in fact,
that in 1998 I went to work a harvest in Marlborough - the
appellation I think grows the best Sauvignon Blanc in the
world!
The experience and the results have been phenomenal!
After learning the personality of several different
vineyards I have contracted grapes from my 2 favorites. One
vineyard is in the cooler Brancott area which contributes
the floral, fresh herbs and crisp acidity to the wine. The
exotic citrus, tropical fruits, rich body and lush mouth
feel come from the warmer Rapaura vineyard.
The combination
is layered luxury! The perfect match for any summer day or night! This
2004 marks the 5th vintage of GUSTO, which has already been listed in
the "Top 100 Wines of the World".
